Writer's Block: The Walking Dead

While things like guns and chainsaws seem like the obvious answer, here's the thing to keep in mind: you need to reload them. Guns need bullets and chainsaws need gasoline. And in any sort of apocalypse, you'll be on the run, so you can only carry so much or find so much while on the move.

So I'm going to say my weapon of choice would be a crowbar or perhaps a baseball bat (or a cricket bat). No reloading, no skill required, and either are relatively light. And it can take a lickin' and keep on tickin', so to speak. You don't even need to keep them sharp, unlike a sword. Blunt force trauma might not kill a zombie outright, but you can at least knock them out of the way. And both have some reach, putting some space between you and a potential zombie bite.

Hmm, I'm putting more thought in this than I need to. :-) I blame hours and hours playing Left 4 Dead.

Incidentally, my sister owns both a crowbar and a cricket bat. I know where I'm going if a zombie apocalypse happens.
