The clothes make the Time Lord

So, Twelve has a costume now:


Very understated, but perhaps the muted colours are a reflection of his personality. I like it, in that it's kind of a throw-back. I'm reminded very much of Three, with the splash of colour on the lining of the coat. A bit more colour would be nice, but maybe Twelve wants to have a lower profile than some of his other selves. I wonder if his shirt or cardigan will be swapped out occasionally for another colour or style, like Ten and Eleven used to do.

From a cosplaying standpoint, it's a very straightforward costume. The only difficult bit is the red lining on the coat, but the rest of the clothes would be easy to copy. I wouldn't be surprised if a few Twelves pop up at Gallifrey One next month.

I wonder if Twelve will get a newly designed sonic screwdriver, too...

The red lining reminded me of Ianto...I always love when someone has awesome lining on their coat and they turn or move and you can catch a glimpse of it. Although the blue itself reminds me of Jack's coat in certain lighting or Ten's suit...

I totally want the coat, lol.

The shoes are a bit more plausible except Dr Martens are EXPENSIVE and unlike Converse, cannot be found at my workplace where I can use my discount opportunities...

Still, I've been wanting black boots anyway...dammit.

I'm still wondering about his signature piece/quote/object, etc...

I was bemoaning how expensive Dr. Martens are to my sister. They couldn't have picked a cheaper of brand of shoes. Still, they are the type of shoe that you can wear in other situations, so I think it would be worth the money.

But man, the original coat from Crombie is expensive.

The costume can always evolve as Twelve's run goes on. It may seem plain now, but they could add or change something next year.

Other people have said it's kind of like a magician's costume, too, so maybe it's intentional.

I want to see Twelve running around, to see how swishy the coat is. :-)
