locker_monsterWhile I would have preferred a specially filmed scene, a clip is better than no clip. But it does confirm one thing that we weren't sure about:
Clara is in the Christmas Special! Just from the dialogue, it seems like it's been a while since Clara saw the Doctor. A few months or maybe even more. Because Clara doesn't protest or anything when the Doctor tells her to get into the TARDIS. One assumes she bombards him with questions once they leave the rooftop.
So, is Santa real or fake? Eleven seems to suggested Santa was real, back in "A Christmas Carol", but here, Santa seems a bit sinister. Maybe this is an alien posing as Santa? Whatever is going on, it feels like this Christmas Special is going to be a little darker.
But Clara! So she either gets written out here or she's going to have a few episodes in season nine. As for the current theory floating around that she's pregnant with Danny's baby? Well, she doesn't look pregnant in this clip, but it could be that she wasn't that far along when Danny died, so she wouldn't be showing yet if only a couple of months have passed. It's just weird that they would spoil the surprise that she is in the episode, but maybe this was the only clip that didn't give too much away.
Is Dan Starkey playing one of the elves? And Twelve now wears a hoodie with his costume. Makes him look so casual, but I like it.
Whatever is going on, I'm excited to see Twelve in a Christmas Special. Hopefully the ending isn't a bummer and we end on something that's upbeat, like how it was way back in "The Christmas Invasion".
