It's a crossover on the CW and all the superheroes are invited

- Totally not a surprise, but the CW is planning a massive crossover for all of the Berlanti-verse shows. A four night event of super heroics. Cue the ice cream gif:

Of course, it begs the question: How will they involve Kara and her team? Because right now, they're on another Earth. Does Barry ask Cisco to open up a breach? Or does Kara find a way to visit Earth-1? Or does the season finale of The Flash end in a Crisis and a melding of Earths? Perhaps Rip gets in over his head with the Thanagarian invasion next season and he asks for Barry and Ollie's help and Barry has the idea to contact Kara. Barry has to explain how he met Kara, but you don't have to throw Superman into the mix. Once the threat is over, Kara goes back to her world and there's no temptation to constantly call on her to help solve problems.

This crossover sounds like a logistical nightmare, but if they pull it off, it will also be amazing. Think of the possibilities. Winn could meet Cisco and Felicity and they could all geek out together. Diggle could freak out about meeting an alien. Ollie will probably be grumpy because Barry and Kara are so chipper and cute all the time. Kara could bring everyone ice creams to show off her powers. :-) Kara could comment that Ray kind of looks like her cousin. Big superhero party at the end before Kara goes home. Cat could make another random CW joke.

If this crossover happens around episode 8, then that coincides with Arrow's 100th episode and this would be a fine way to celebrate.

- As for Legends of Tomorrow, which had its season finale this week...

They killed Savage (finally) and Kendra and Carter left the show. Works for me. ;-) Now that they've dumped the weaker aspects of the show, hopefully things get better from here. As for how they killed Savage, um, sure, why not. They tied in the Thanagarians to the meteoroids that gave Savage, Kendra, and Carter their powers at the last minute, but I like to think that it's more set-up for next season and not a random retcon.

As for Rip flying the Waverider into the Sun to destroy the last meteoroid, yeah, that was dumb. There was no need to actually fly into the Sun; just hurl it towards the Sun and there you go. Thankfully, the writers did a backtrack and didn't have Rip die in an avoidable sacrifice. Gideon is my hero for speaking up and saying, "Hey, I don't want to die, Captain." I was actually worried that they would kill off Rip, since the producers have stated that the team make-up isn't always going to be the same, but Rip didn't die so Arthur Darvill continues to have a job. :-) And now that Rip isn't burdened with a need to stop Savage and save his family, maybe he'll make fewer stupid decisions.

I wonder if it was always intended to write out the Hawks at the end of the season? Or did the writers take note of what the fans were saying and decided to eject them now? I never cared about Carter, but they could have written Kendra better. Sadly, she got saddled with a timey-wimey romance that went absolutely nowhere. I suppose there's always the potential to bring them back for guest appearances.

In a nice tie in to Arrow, Sara finds her dad in the Bunker, aka the Arrowcave, which is where we saw him last. So this means this episode of LoT fits around this week's episode of Arrow and next week's episode of Arrow. This implies then that the team was only back in 2016 for a day or two. While it felt a little awkward, the show had to have Sara find out about her sister, so the stopover in 2016 had to happen one way or another. I love that Stein and Ray went all Science Bros and found a way to contact Rip. Is there a .gif of their high five? I want one with a caption that says "Science Bros" or just "Science!"

I hope that Ray and Mick's awkward/funny friendship continues into next season. Without Snart around, Mick doesn't really have anyone. It was very nice of Rip to drop off Mick in a time where Snart is still alive so he could have one last conversation with his friend. Let's see how long Snart stays dead. Wentworth Miller has a contract allowing him to be a recurring character across all of the shows, so unless they have a lot of flashbacks, I expect they'll find a way to bring Snart back to the land of the living relatively soon.

Oh, and Jefferson and Stein discovered a new power! They can transmutate objects now. That's one of Firestorm's powers in the comics so it's nice to see it on screen finally. I'm sure it will come in handy, but only when the plot requires it. The other times, I'm sure they'll come up with a flimsy excuse for why Firestorm can't turn something into something else. Also, isn't kind of weird for Jefferson to just run off again? What does his mother think? It's one thing for Sara and Ray and Stein to leave their lives behind; their friends and family know about their super heroics. From his mother's perspective, her son was missing for five months. I hope he came clean with her.

And that cliffhanger. Hourman! Played by that guy who's in Suits and is Helena's boyfriend on Orphan Black. And the Justice Society of America! Does this mean we'll have more heroes next season? So is Rex from the future then? He must be if he's coming back to warn the team about their deaths. But the JSA was always more of an Earth-2 thing. What is going on? I doubt that Rex will be a main character for next season, as Suits is still on the air, but there are two open slots on the team. Time to hold a recruitment drive.

The CW just needs another DC superhero show on Friday and then DC would have total domination over the schedule. Something for next next season maybe?
