locker_monsterThey revealed Thirteen's new look yesterday and I was surprised to see something so soon before the start of filming. The news was posted so early in the morning that I was practically out of the door for work, so I wasn't able to get a good look until now. For those you haven't seen it yet, here's a link:

It's all right. I think it needs to grow on me, but that's always been the case with any new costume. It looks simple enough, which is always key for a cosplay. And she's wearing trousers and not a skirt or a dress! Thank goodness! The only thing I'm not loving are the suspenders. They seem out of place with the rest of the costume.
I do like the long coat. That seems to be an integral part of the Doctor's wardrobe. I wish we got a better look at her socks, though. Yes, it's a weird thing to obsess over, but I have to wonder if that's the part of her costume that will change, like how Eleven had various bow ties. And I can knit socks (kind of, in theory), so that's another skill to put to use. I'm sure the costume will evolve as the seasons go by. Just look at how many iterations Twelve went through during his run.
Slightly off topic, but I was in the calendar store today looking at the Doctor Who calendars. This is the last year where they will be able to do a Doctor per month. I wonder how they'll approach the calendar design for 2019. The only way I can see is if you do multiple Doctors on the page for each month. But how do you space them out? If you do pairs, it doesn't get you up to 12 months. Yes, I think about random things like this. :-)
