Writer's Block: It's a wonderful life!

Oh man, this is an easy one and I've mentioned it before, but it never gets old.

A Muppet Family Christmas!

I used to watch this one every year for ages, but then stupid YTV stopped showing it for some unknown reason. Thank goodness my sister owns a DVD of it, though it's a slightly edited version, which saddens me immensely, but hey, it's better than nothing.

I can't quite describe why I love it so much. It's nothing flashy, but there are so many great moments and lines. My sister and I can go the entire special quoting every line practically. "Watch out for that icy patch!" Sigh, good times.

We ordered it from Netflix. I love this movie. It bombed in the theatres when it came out... but it sure stood the test of time. I know some complained it was maudlin, but Jimmy Stewart played a flawed hero-- and that scene where he's losing it in front of his kids was very 'real'. Just an AWESOME movie with such a great message.

I love how Potter never got caught-- he got his prize, and he STILL LOST. Not a typical fiction ending-- no justice for the bad guy, at least directly. That was part of what made the movie so good- because it wasn't about what the bad guy did, it was about how despite all the bad stuff, it was still "a wonderful life". Just awesome.

I'd imagine the pitch to the studio was awkward. LOL. How do you summarize that movie?

I hate to admit this, but...

I've never seen It's A Wonderful Life.

*hides behind computer in shame*

It's one of those things I've been meaning to watch "one day", but one day hasn't happened so far. You'd think I would have seen it by now. It's always on at some point during the holidays.
