Well that was a bit disappointing

<------- Hooray, I finally got myself a Stargate icon!

And I knew it. Carson's a clone. Looks like Michael totally took a sample of his DNA during "Misbegotten". So that means there were two Carsons during season three. I guess when the team met Michael in "Vengeance" clone Carson was off in another facility. The thing I don't get is how the team only heard about one of their people being held from the Wraith worshipers in this episode. Wouldn't the rumour have be travelling around the galaxy for a good long while? Maybe the team was just too busy to listen to Wraith worshipers.

It was kind of sad when clone Carson learned real Carson and Elizabeth were dead. He was expecting Atlantis to be a certain way when he got back and everything seemed to change. It's also a bummer that clone Carson can't even see his mother because she thinks he dead. Sucks to be a clone. The thing about needing an injection was totally the writers way of having Carson around but not at the same time. It felt like a total cop out. "Look, it's Carson. No, wait, it's a clone. Dang, he needs injections to survive. Oh well, we'll stick him in a stasis pod and thaw him out next season when we find a cure." Either keep Carson around or don't. Don't tease us with his return and then have him go away again. But obviously you can't have two doctors. I hope this doesn't mean Keller will come to a sticky end just so Carson can come back in a semi-regular capacity. Doctors on Stargate don't seem to fair very well.

At least we got to see that not all of Teyla's people have been turned into hybrids. Been awhile since we've seen Halling. It's kinda funny how the actor playing him was Todd in the last episode and Halling in this one. I was sort of under the impression that Michael had fathered Teyla's baby somehow, but it seems he's just interested in the kid's DNA. I fully expected Teyla to give birth this season but it looks like they'll hold off on that until next season. I'm still curious to learn what the fate of Teyla's child will be. Will Michael steal him away or will the team find Teyla and her baby and they'll return to Atlantis. Most kids on Stargate either disappear and reappear several years older or become evil messiahs so a somewhat normal life for Teyla's kid doesn't look too good.

One more episode to go. Since the Wraith got featured in this two parter I'll wager the finale will involve the Replicators. Got to tie up that loose end from "Be All My Sins Remember'd". Though, I heard they let Torri go so Elizabeth's fate seems up in the air. I hope they'll bring her back but not just when they need her for a plot.

The way I heard it they were planning to have Torri back for an arc to deal with the replicator plot, but, for whatever reason, she declined the offer to return in S5.

Oh. I haven't read anything, just heard things, so I was under the impression it was the producers who changed their minds. Well, good to know. But actors have decided to leave before and they've been convinced to come back so it's not too inconceivable for Elizabeth to return.

Y'know, truthfully, I'm not surprised Torri decided to leave. Elizabeth's character was fine; she just wasn't involved that much in the plot. There was really no need for her to get involved with the arc this season. And, like you've said, Sam hasn't been Sam ever since she came in as a replacement. As least Elizabeth as a character had been designed to be base leader. I'd be a little annoyed too to be reduced to recurring character status just so the stories could be more dynamic. But what are you gonna do?

The stasis thing just made me think of when Jack went into stasis in Antarctica. I was so excited to have Carson back, even as a clone. Then the stasis. I guess freeze him until they are prepared to bring him back at some point. Bah.

And yes, I am curious as to what they are going to do with Teyla's baby. I do like Michael so this opens up more opportunities for him to come back. Unless of course they wrap his arc up in the season finale. Granted if they did, that would suck and it would probably not be done too well.

And yay for the stargate icon!

Y'know, I think it's the same stasis chamber Jack used; they probably reused the prop. :-D At least they didn't kill off this Carson. That would have made me very angry. I heard they're bringing Carson back next season for a few episodes so I bet the team find a cure. It's just, they have a doctor now. How will Carson fit into the scheme of things?

I kind of hope Teyla's baby will be brought up normally. Babies on Stargate always end up in a weird situations; they never get to just grow up. But seeing as how Michael is super interested in the kid I doubt that'll happen. I'm sure the team will spend the first few episodes next season looking for Teyla and Michael so he'll be back. :-) I like Connor Trinneer, too, so it never hurts to see him on screen.

I hope to find more Stargate icons once I get around to upgrading to 100 icons. Jack amuses me.
