locker_monster: (Old School TARDIS)

Maybe the Doctor should have used the invisibility mode...

So I was watching the coverage of the new Mars rover, Curiosity, landing on the red planet, and it was all cool and stuff (and hey they eat peanuts for good luck), but when the first photos came back, I couldn't help but wish for a moment like this:

I could totally see the Doctor wanting to go to Mars to watch Curiosity's landing live but, of course, he messes up and lands right in view of the rover for all the rocket scientists to see. :-)

BTW, Curiosity has a Twitter account and it's so cute. Best tweet so far: "I'm safely on the surface of Mars. GALE CRATER I AM IN YOU!!!"

Nice! Did you make that one yourself?

Sure did. Took a few tries to get the TARDIS to look right. Dang fish-eye lens.

The Mass Effect community is having a lot of fun with these photos, as most of the technology from the game is developed from an alien cache found on Mars.

One step closer to Bowie Base from "The Waters of Mars". ;-)
