It was written by Bob Dylan, but (imo) Jimi Hendrix's is the definitive version, though, there are a TON of bands that have covered it over the year according to wikipedia! <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Along_The_Watchtower#Cover_versions>Cover Versions</a>
