( It felt strange to speak English again, proper English with other people with English accents. When Rory had realized he had made to the British colonies in what would be the United States of America, he had nearly burst out laughing. British people sailing to this country on British ships. It was the best scenario he could have hoped for. )

( The doors were shoved open and a group of men, six in total, rushed in carrying flaming torches and ropes. Rory jumped to his feet, reaching for his sword, but the men were on him before he could pull the weapon free from its scabbard. )

A/N: This behemoth came about when I was watching the reconstruction of "Marco Polo" from "The Beginning" DVD boxset. What if Marco had tried to use the Pandorica instead of the TARDIS to win favour with Kublai Khan? The rest of the story spiralled out of control from there.
