A/N: Entry for [livejournal.com profile] who_contest's "Anachronism" challenge.

She had done her best to get him to explain what was going on, but the Time Lord had thought showing her would be more fun. So here they were, on the Moon, in some unknown century, in a museum that was closed for the night. )
Whoo, the comic book expo has begun!

I happily got out of my meeting at noon. Take that suckers! You can take your own damn meeting minutes!

I like Thursdays at the expo. It's a very laid back day. You can get your pass and then wander the exhibitors' hall for a bit while it's not that crowded. And that was my downfall. I was wandering the hall and there it was: a rack of AbbyShot coats. I naturally freaked out because I never get to see these coats in person; I only ever see them online. So they had Eleven's purple coat (which I already own), Jack's coat, Mal's famous brown coat, and lo, the ladies version of Ten's coat. I will admit I have been eyeing the femme Ten coat since it came out. It's a lovely looking coat, but the price online is always crazy expensive.

Anyway, long story short, I bought the coat. :-)

I mean, how could I not. It's in Canadian dollars and there's no shipping or duty. I probably saved myself over $100.

The coat. It reaches down to my ankles, as it should, and the fit overall is very good. Definitely snugger than my femme Eleven coat. See, this is why it's always best to try it on in person. Now, I just have to build a femme!Ten cosplay around it. ;-) At least I already own the right sonic screwdriver.

Oh, and the expo somehow got Neil Patrick Harris as a last minute guest. Wow. Now I have to get my Dr. Horrible DVD signed. Once I do, that's all of the three main actors.

Okay, time for bed. I need to rest up for parade day tomorrow.
So at the same time I was making up Valentine themed banners for [livejournal.com profile] who_at_50's February fanwork-a-thon I started a side project, which, admittedly, eclipsed the Valentines at one point so I finished the Valentines with a day to go. :-P

But all of that wasted time was worth it. I honestly don't know what inspired this and I really don't know if I'll do anything with it, but I thought I'd share.

Eleven Doctors behind the cut )

I honestly don't know what to do with them now that I'm done. I'm tempted to print it, cut out each Doctor individually and then hang them up in my cubicle, paper doll chain style.
I've been hoarding these for awhile. Time I posted them.

A/N: Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] quean_of_swords for the awesome beta. This is actually a revised version of a story I had written previously (but posted elsewhere) so if the plot sounds familiar, it was the other, crappier, version. I do reference the season eight comics, but intimate knowledge isn't necessary.

Giles didn't have to wait long to see a man enter the halo of light given off by the lamp on the desk. He quickly noted the man's brown spiky hair, long brown coat, brown pinstriped suit, and, strangely, white trainers. )

A/N: Many thanks to my beta [livejournal.com profile] meremoon. You rock! Posting to celebrate the premiere of season five on Saturday. Here's to another year of adventures in time and space!

There were exactly nine other men in the pub. All of their faces were familiar to him. After all, he had, at one point in time, been all of them. )
And so the Doctor Who madness begins! This is going to be a very long week...

I was watching "The Christmas Invasion" yesterday just to pass the time until I got to watch "The End of Time", and wow, how far we've come with Ten. From a confused man in his jim jams to, well, a crazy guy with crazy hair doing crazy things.

Pic spam of Ten through the various Christmas specials (no spoilers) )

Okay, yes, there were bits in-between where he was smiling and being cute, but whenever we reached the end of the Christmas special, Ten's mood was always very glum. Are we going to end on a smile, with some grand realization from the Doctor about how he needs someone with him? I read in "The Writer's Tale" that Russell figured out Ten's last words ages before he started writing these episodes so anything could happen.
Whoo, I got off work early! Mostly because I got up and left early, but hey, who's cares, right? I'm sure the majority of the building would be gone by noon; tis the grand tradition of working Christmas Eve.

I'm so excited to have the next ten days off. This project is driving me nuts. It'll be good to get away from all the paperwork for a week or so. Then it's back to the madness, with even more responsibilities on top of the ones I already gained. Bleh.

I'm going to spend the next ten days just chilling. Playing video games, watching DVDs, freaking out over the next two Doctor Who specials, etc. I am so determined to finish off the Third Doctor's run before the end of the year. It feels like I've been watching his episodes forever. I might also get around to other things I've been putting off, but who knows. Or maybe I'll have a Doctor Who Christmas special marathon...

And in honour of Ten, as seen on [livejournal.com profile] goldy_dollar's LJ...

When you see this, post a quote some quotes from the Tenth Doctor:

Tenth Doctor: You know, I loved being you. Back when I first started, at the very beginning, I was always trying to be old and grumpy and important, like you do when you're young. And then I was you, and it was all dashing about and playing cricket and my voice going all squeaky when I shout. I still do that, the voice thing, I got that from you! Oh, and the trainers, and [puts on his glasses] snap. 'Cos you know what, Doctor? You were my Doctor.
Fifth Doctor: [Touched, raises his hat in salute] To days to come.
Tenth Doctor: All my love to long ago.
("Time Crash")

The Doctor: [about Rose] I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi gods and would-be gods; out of all that, out of that whole pantheon, if I believe in one thing... just one thing... I believe in her.
("The Satan Pit")

The Doctor: This is my Timey-Wimey Detector. Goes "ding" when there's stuff. Also, it can boil an egg at 30 paces. Whether you want it to or not, actually, so I've learnt to stay away from hens - it's not pretty when they blow.
("Blink")

Sigh. Was it only four years ago that we met Ten? Time flies.
The BBC posted the first day of the Doctor Who Advent(ure) Calendar today. It looks like they've changed the format a bit. It doesn't look like a real advent calendar, which makes me sad. Before they had a picture and you could click on the days, almost like an actual advent calendar. This format is very much lacking in the clicking. But hey, as long as they keep rolling out the goodies, I'll be checking back every day. :-)

And speaking of Doctor Who and Christmas...

How many more days to go? I know we're heading towards a regeneration, but I'm still excited regardless. But Doctor Who is forcing me to ignore my family on a holiday not once, but twice: Christmas Day and New Years Day. Who needs to spend time with their family anyway, right? ;-)

The Doctor faltered, unable to articulate his mood. He had set off the last element in a chain of events spanning forty years. It was an elegant solution to a complex problem, something his people used to revel in. And yet, it all felt wrong in a way. )

The timey-wimey detector dinged again as he ran out of the Chestertons’ living room and into the front hall where his coat hung from a hat stand. He had one arm shoved into the sleeve of his coat when he ran back into the living room. “Why are you all standing around?” he asked his companions. )

This fixed solitude was leaving him with thoughts he had tried long to ignore. One’s life was harder to contemplate when the world underfoot was new every day. )
