This is one of my favourite chapters. I realized Rose and Martha needed to have a moment to talk about the Doctor and all the things they've lost. I don't think Rose would talk about the Doctor and admit her feelings about him with just anyone, so it shows how close she and Martha have become. And it shows just how awesome Martha is despite being a fish out of water, so to speak.
I have given some thought to how the Doctor is coping in Pete's World. A story for another time maybe...
