Thank you! Giles and the Doctor have a lot in common, so it seemed only natural to put the two of them in a story together. I just loved the idea that Giles already knows who the Doctor is.
As for canon, well, Ten and Rose did appear in a panel in the Buffy season eight comics. That sorta counts, right? ;-)
