After dressing up as Amy for Halloween, I've come to two conclusions: 1) I look ridiculous in a ginger wig and 2) the Doctor needs an Asian Companion.
Still, I think my Amy costume turned out rather well.

I wasn't wearing them when I took the picture, but I ended up wearing Amy's biker boots from "Amy's Choice" and "The Lodger" as I'm not a fan of cowboy boots. As for the rest of the outfit, most of it was stuff I already owned. The purple shirt, the purple tank, the black jeans, the gloves, and the scarf were all stuff I've worn numerous times. And the Pandorica was the one I whipped up last week. I let it out of my sight for a bit, stupid me, and the base got slightly crushed, but it still looks okay.
The leather jacket was a new buy but I was so happy when I found it. It's made by Lady Dutch and it wasn't too expensive. The main selling point is that it looks a lot like Amy's jacket from "The Pandorica Opens"/"The Big Bang". The colour is a bit darker and it's fake leather, but the drape front and design of the jacket is exactly the same. A great knock-off for Amy cosplayers if you can't find the original Oasis jacket.
The ginger wig was the most ginger-y wig I could find in the wig store. It really doesn't match my skin tone, as Amy is a lot paler than I am, but people at the party said it worked so I assume I didn't look too weird. It got super tangled by the end of the night, which was a bother, but it didn't fall off of my head, which was good. I think I'd need to cut my hair when I wear the wig again. My hair is really thick and I had a bump beneath the wig where I shoved all of my hair into the wig cap.
To my delight, I encountered two guys talking about Doctor Who at the party! I had to mention I was dressed as Amy, but they soon got my costume after that. And that led to the best moment of the night:

"Are you my mummy?"
It wasn't even my idea to take the picture. :-) One of the guys wanted one for a friend and I was happy to oblige. I should point out that the other guy in the picture didn't come to the party as a gas mask zombie, but he was mistaken for one (For the record, he came as Golden Age Sandman and I was the only person who got it). Sandman guy was even talking about how he was thinking of getting some people together to dress as all eleven Doctors for the comic book expo in April. He said he wouldn't mind some Companions as well, so maybe in six months time I'll have pictures of me with some Doctors.
Oh, I also realized something else. How the hell did the Doctor leave his sonic screwdriver in Amy's jacket during "The Big Bang"? There are no pockets in the damn thing. Did he shove the screwdriver up her sleeve?
