After a month of sitting on the wrong floor, and being in a lame cube, I’ve finally moved to the right floor where I can properly assist the right people. I guess it was never clearly defined what I would be doing. Looks like I’ll be splitting my time between projects. Joy. So that means a lot of running up and down between floors. Thank goodness the building only has four floors. At least I’m back to doing what I was initially hired to do. I have to admit, I kind of missed my old role. On Project Hellhole I was given a new role through no want of my own.
On the plus, I have my own cubicle with proper walls, so that’s nice. I could plaster the walls with stuff I like if I wanted. I still miss having a window though. And some dumbo left their dress shoes behind in my cubicle. Shoes! They’re guy’s dress shoes, which is even more annoying because clearly he won’t care if he’s lost a pair of shoes. If this was a pair of woman’s shoes, she’d totally be asking about them. I also have another PA to work with. That’s nice. It’s been awhile since I had a fellow PA. There are also some people on the project I know from the other project so I’m not completely surrounded by strangers.
On the negative side, I have to learn all the procedures they have on this project. I’m used to doing things a certain way and now I have to use the company’s standards rather than the rather lax Project Hellhole standards. Imagine my surprise when I was told there was a vacation request form to fill out. “You mean I can’t just go off on vacation? I have to get it approved now?” Not that they would reject someone’s vacation. Though, I got the feeling it came close. The other PA and I are on vacation around the same time so there won’t be anyone to cover for us. Heh.
And I see there's another LJ snafu. I barely use my Facebook as it is but if you do, well, I'm sure you know the drill. Don't re-post my entries, comments, etc.
To make this post completely random:
I've been catching the odd Due South here and there. One of the more strange, but awesome, scenes from the show. Paul Gross singing? You can't go wrong. :-) I wanted to post video of the scene where Fraser and a childhood buddy of his escape some thugs by skating down an icy alley and then they take out the thugs using their mad hockey skills, but sadly, there are some things YouTube can't provide.
