I've spent the past couple of weekends working on my Old!Amy armour from "The Girl Who Waited" and while I'm nowhere near finished, it is progressing. Since Thursday I've been working on the shoulder panel. What does four days of work look like, you ask?

The entire thing is made out of cardboard and tape of some kind (duct or otherwise) as I'm not willing to spend a lot of money on this costume. I know it doesn't look like much, but I can't tell you how many hours I've spent hunched over my desk making this thing. As you can see, I'm only half way done on the hexagon detailing. It went a little pear shaped in some places, but if you look at the actual patten from the episode it's all weird so it's not horribly off the mark. I'm hopeful the other half will look a little better. But man, I am all cross-eyed from looking at those hexagons.

I have no idea how I'm going to do the visor, though. Stupid hexagons. And my god, how hard can it be to find polka dot fabric? I checked one place and it had nothing in the right colours.

I'm going to take a nap now...
