I had to buy a new pair of runners today. I had bought my old pair before the challenge started, but that was around fall last year so I had to wear snow boots for the first three months of the challenge (give or take). So in less than a year, I have utterly demolished these shoes.

Actually, the lady at the running/walking store told me today that said you should replace your running shoes every 800km. I did the math. I walk about 4km a day, to and from work. That means I would need to buy new shoes every 200 days or every six months or so. Good thing I have to wear snow boots for about five months of the year. Wow, I was never grateful for the long winters until now.

So with the end of the challenge still four months away I have gone through a) one pedometer battery and b) one pair of expensive running shoes. Let's see what else I can wear out by then...
