The summer movie season has begun, even though it's only spring, but that's okay. Saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier this weekend and it's pretty good. I was forced to see it in 3D (damn you Cineplex for only having 3D showings!), but it wasn't that bad. I don't think it was filmed as 3D since there weren't really showy 3D moments, which I appreciated.
I got to say, Marvel continues to dominate the big screen. There were three trailers for movies with Marvel characters: X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy. DC? Well, I think they do better on TV, frankly. But anyway...
It nice to have these individual movies to catch up with all of the Avengers. Cap has closer ties with S.H.I.E.L.D., so we do see more characters from The Avengers than in the other movies, but there's enough breathing room for everyone. It's still Steve's movie, though. He's still adjusting to life in the 21st century, but it's less about the technological shock and more about the cultural shock.

Next up: Guardians of the Galaxy in August. Get ready to have "Hooked On a Feeling" stuck in your head. "Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga..." :-)
