And just like that, I now have two commissions for a Fourth Doctor scarf.

One lady in my book club wants the season 16/17 length one and the husband of another lady wants the full season 12 length one. And you know what? The brand of yarn I used last time from Knit Picks is on sale this week! Yay! And I have a way to get free shipping this time! Double yay!!

(It's funny. The lady who wants the season 16/17 scarf showed me a picture of the length she wanted and I instantly knew that the picture she found was from the Key to Time season (specifically "The Stones of Blood"). Useless trivia machine, that's me.)

I'm going to go sport weight yarn this time, because it's thinner than worsted, and that should help with the weight of the scarf, especially the season 16/17 one. Apparently that scarf was about 23 feet long. That's a lot yarn to be hanging off the needles. Good thing the season 16/17 scarf is basically two scarves knitted together to make one: the original and the duplicate made for "The Android Invasion". That means I can knit the two halves separately and then join them together after I block everything.

Annoyingly, the colour options from the worsted weight yarn aren't the same for the sport weight yarn. I have four colours that are the same or better, but for the remaining three colours I will have to take a gamble and just hope the colours I'm seeing on my screen are a decent match. I think the colours I've chosen will work with the overall colour scheme. I'm a fan of the more muted look that got transmitted through the TV screen, rather than the more saturated look that the scarf actually was before it got super faded over time. Man, a yarn manufacturer needs to get together with the BBC and come up with a definitive yarn bundle fo the scarf.

I won't get to start these scarves until after Christmas, but my two customers (how weird to think of them as customers) are aware of that and they said they don't mind. Now that I have the experience of knitting my scarf until my belt, these ones should be a little easier to do.
