Rory was the closet to a full-time male champion in New Who and he doesn't get acknowledge in the media. I was disappointed that we didn't get "Victorian" Clara.
As for Bill, people are already criticising her looks and the fact that if shes from the past it will mean the Doctor will have to explain things more. Rose wasn't an academic and that wasn't a problem.
Why do people treat the female champions like their suppose to be there as eye-candy?
