I wonder if I'll have the same problem when I get to TNG. I was fairly young when I watched it the first time through, so those first impressions might stick around.

Of course, part of my problem is I didn't start watching TOS until it was in syndication, which meant it was on TV every single weekday after school and before dinner, and it was a rare day that I missed seeing it. And it seemed to be on for ages -- when they ran out of episodes, they just started over again. So not only was I exposed young, but the exposure was repeated. It got to the point where my siblings and I would go "Oh, this one!" within the first minute or two of an episode. But even so, we still loved watching it over and over again. That says something right there about what a special show it is.
