First off, I mentioned in my last BSG post that the sister and her friends were met with a very cheery ad for Cheez Whiz after an very unexpected and downbeat character moment in 4x11. Fake cheese and, well, y'know. Not exactly a winning combination.

Apparently, there was an even worse ad placement. It's not fake cheese, but the imaginary is just so wrong. Don't click the link if you haven't seen 4x11. Well, I suppose you can click the link; the short article doesn't reveal anything, but just don't watch the video. Big ol' spoilers.

But enough about that.

I have nothing really important to say. No great thoughts on the plot. Gaeta needs a punch to the face. Poor Chief; he finds out he's a Cylon, he loses his wife, and now he finds out his son isn't his son. So Callie was sleeping around before they got married? Wow, that's not the greatest thing you can find out about your dead wife. Six and Tigh get a cute moment, watching their baby on the sonogram. Tigh seems so utterly confused. I like that Cottle gives him a cigarette and the nurse is all "Dudes, pregnant lady sitting right beside you!" Anyone else get the feeling something bad is going to happen to Six and Tigh's baby?

This was Ron Moore's directorial debut but the episode really didn't do anything new and exciting visually. I want to hear his podcast for this episode though; I'm sure Ron will have many tales about how hard it was to direct the episode. I find it slightly odd he would want to get into directing. Writing is totally his thing. Not ever great writer needs to be a great director as well.

And Adama and Roslin! At least there was one happy moment. It's so nice when the head writer actually fulfills a ship. So often TV shows will just tease a relationship within an inch of its life but nothing ever happens. So the Adama/Roslin shippers are having a good squee, and rightly so. These two characters have worked their way towards a happy relationship. Seeing Laura so down in last week's episode, I was worried their relationship was going to fall apart, but thankfully, they went the opposite direction. I'm just concerned now that the relationship is going to end horribly. Yes, Roslin is dying, but now that she and Adama are all cute and couplely, she'll probably meet a sticky end, not die in a hospital bed. Or is that too pessimistic, even for this show?

And how does Lee know who the final Cylon is? Did Tigh tell everyone after he had his flashback? Because Lee lets "she" slip and he tells the press they know the final Cylon is dead, which implies he knows it's Ellen.

Oh, and one more link. Bear McCreary has a great and very funny featurette on the season 4.0 DVDs. It's all up on YouTube in three parts. I just love it when the cast and crew act all faux mean and snobby. Jane Espenson makes an appearance, and Edward James Olmos gets a funny moment, too. :-)
