Doctor Who: making Christmas awesome since 2005

The BBC posted the first day of the Doctor Who Advent(ure) Calendar today. It looks like they've changed the format a bit. It doesn't look like a real advent calendar, which makes me sad. Before they had a picture and you could click on the days, almost like an actual advent calendar. This format is very much lacking in the clicking. But hey, as long as they keep rolling out the goodies, I'll be checking back every day. :-)

And speaking of Doctor Who and Christmas...



How many more days to go? I know we're heading towards a regeneration, but I'm still excited regardless. But Doctor Who is forcing me to ignore my family on a holiday not once, but twice: Christmas Day and New Years Day. Who needs to spend time with their family anyway, right? ;-)

Funny thing is, I realize after looking at the "game" on the calendar... I actually got 3 points yesterday when I said "bananas are good" to a co-worker. Totally not quoting, but meaning it. I chuckled to myself when I realized what I'd said, but still.

The co-worker did not get the reference, sadly.

I could probably say a bunch of these to my friends and they wouldn't get it either. But yay! 3 points! Now if you can work in "Have you ever thought what it's like to be wanderers in the fourth dimensions? Have you?" into a conversation, that'll be impressive.

But what's stopping people from cheating? You know, walking up to random people and throwing a quote at them? I suppose that's not the point of the game. I'd love to hear stories from other fans trying out the game on co-workers on friends, see what reactions they get.

I made it last year but never got around to posting it for some reason.

I don't want to see Ten go, either. But we can take comfort in the thought that there's a version of Ten out there that can come back for an anniversary special and they don't need to comment on why he looks older?

I'm coming up blank here on the positives of a regeneration...
