Well, today was my three year anniversary with my company. To celebrate, I got a free breakfast. Okay, so did everyone else in the building because it's Stampede, but it was still a nice way to start off the day. :-) And then my department totally slacked off for the rest of the afternoon because the client had their Stampede party and they weren't around. Gotta love Stampede. Nobody does any work for 10 days.
I think things have vastly approved from last year. I'm actually on a project that doesn't suck! The client isn't an idiot, I get recognition for my hard work, and we have free doughnuts and muffins every Thursday. Obviously they're bribing us to work harder through free food. Or they're trying to fatten us up for something. I really can't decide. Still, morale is good and there aren't any stupid co-workers sucking the life out of you because of their negativity. That's always a plus.
I had a performance review last month and they always ask you where do you see yourself within the company in the next five years. I never know what to say. Obviously, better pay and more vacation time, but career wise, I have no aspirations. I don't want to be a buyer or an expediter or a manager. I like being a PA. Apparently, we have all the answers. Seriously, I had to show a guy how to do his job the other day. It was just a simple thing with the system we use and he had no idea. Offices would totally implode without PAs.
So work, for once, is good, all in all. It's nice when I don't have to complain about anything.
