Sounds like the ratings for Torchwood: Miracle Day haven't been that awesome. I'm worried that the show will end on a cliffhanger or something and we won't get any resolution.
And things are finally picking up, too. We're in the last act of the plot it seems. We're getting more answers and I'm going to assume things will snowball from here.
Hmm, okay, wrong about Angelo. The writers just made it seem like he was the one responsible for everything. That makes it a bit better. Instead, Angelo's one of the good guys. Or something. I'm just sad they blew up his granddaughter. I'm not sure what to think about Angelo watching Jack all those years, though. He was respecting Jack's wishes in one way, but he never got to see Jack properly again. And his character was just there and then gone. He really didn't add much; it was his granddaughter who did all the talking. Though the null field thing sounds like the key to ending the miracle, so Angelo did do that.
And it was Star Trek guest stars bonanza this episode. Okay, two's not really a bonanza, but it's still quite a coincidence. I don't remember if John de Lancie mentioned he would be on Torchwood while at the con. Maybe Nana mentioned it and I just forgot. I kind of wish her character didn't have to die. Shapiro was a laugh though. Kind of an ass, but funny at the same time. He'll probably be in the next episode, just barking orders, so it's not like he's that important to the plot, which is a bit annoying and a waste of John de Lancie, but hey, what are you going to do. Though, I loved the look in Jack's face when Shapiro called Gwen English and a girl. Classic, "Ooh, wrong move, buddy" face.
It really felt like this season started to pay off. People from the beginning of the season came back and more stuff was revealed. So the triangle people are responsible for the miracle. The Family. I don't see what they get out of this. They make the world immortal. Then what? How does a crashing stock market and general panic equal a result? Do they want to rebuild the world to their liking? The only new thing that was kind of interesting is how anyone could be involved with the Family. That Charlotte lady is actually just more than some CIA desk jockey. I doubt Esther or Rex could be involved with the Family, but hey, you never know.
Oh, I bet Jack is fine. He took that piece of the null field thing. I'm sure we'll see him die at the beginning of the next episode and Esther will be crying and then, wham! Jack's back.
Randomly: A lot of angst in this episode. Jack mentioned Ianto! And those pictures of Jack from the past. Is it me, or did they just photoshop an old promo pic of Jack for the 1970s one? I love Gwen's family. Her mom's awesome. And did Rhys call Jack his boss? I'm starting to hate those contact lenses. Since when can they be programmed to turn on when someone's heartbeat races a certain number? And how the hell did Rex figure out how to do that? They also made an error I think. When Friedkin is speaking and it's being transmitted to the monitors, I don't think we should have heard his voice. Shouldn't it have been the synthesized voice? And finally, Jack told Esther and Rex he's from the future.
Well, now I'm just waiting to watch Doctor Who.
