A mishmash of things in this post. I actually have stuff I want to talk about. ;-)
First off, the latest ep of The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Not much to say here. I thought maybe the plot would involve Clyde being forgotten by everyone, but being cursed was interesting, too. I just find it odd that he just accepted his fate and started living on the streets. Why didn't he try to sneak into Sarah Jane's house and talk to Mr. Smith? If your friends and family suddenly turn on you for no apparent reason and you know it's something alien, would you just accept it? That didn't seem like Clyde. He's seen a lot of weird things and always fought back. I guess they wanted to have Clyde on the streets so they could touch upon homelessness.
Also, Ellie just appears and then disappears. I was kind of hoping the thing about people disappearing would be a plot piece they would carry over into the next week, but nope. People weren't being taken by some alien. They just hitched a ride out of London. And I always thought that the writers were trying to get Clyde and Rani together. Seems a bit weird to have a new girl show up only to have her leave so suddenly.
How old is Sky supposed to be? 12? 13? What's the minimum age you have to be to attend high school? But I see what the writers did with her. By making her younger, they were ensuring that a kid would stay around after Clyde and Rani graduated high school. I mean, once Clyde and Rani graduate, what reason do they have to hang around with Sarah Jane? They should be worried about university and work and stuff. I wouldn't have been surprised if Sky had made some friends and they became the new sidekicks on the show. I'm not sure I like that Sky can be immune to certain things. That's a cheap sci fi cop out. I know she's not human so she's bound not to be affected by the same things as we are, but it just seems silly.
Next week's the last episode, but I'm psyched to see how Luke and Sky get along. I can picture them investigating stuff together and being super cute at the same time. :-)
I recently got back into Dragon Age: Origins. I was a bad BioWare fan and never finished the game, so I felt a little guilty about that. Did finish it about a week ago so now I'm craving more demon killing. Filling that void until I can get my hands on Dragon Age 2 is Dragon Age: Redemption, starring Felicia Day. She was the perfect person for the job really. It's a web series and it's set in a video game world, and both are things she knows well. The first part came out today and it's a little weird seeing Felicia running around, kicking butt with elf ears. I don't know if the web series will be able to capture the expansive world of Dragon Age, but right now, it's just fun to watch.
And speaking of fun things to watch: The Avengers trailer! I know zilch about the Avengers as a comic book superhero team, but hey, Joss wrote and directed the movie so I know it'll be awesome anyway. :-D It's just a teaser trailer, but it looks great. And snappy, trade mark Whedon dialogue! Hee! Joss was born to write for Tony Stark.
