Potential costume options for Eleven before they settled on the bow tie and tweed.

Seemed like they wanted Eleven to wear a vest. Every other option has one. I'm really glad they settled on his iconic bow tie and tweed. Everything else is just... weird. None of it seems Doctor-ish to me, except maybe for the first one. Also, the costumes look like stuff Matt Smith would wear in real life. :-D

Now I'm anxious to see how they dress Twelve...

I think I read somewhere a long time ago that they had a problem finding things that made Matt Smith look goofy enough, that even the goofy things they picked looked too cool when they put them on him, and now I see what they meant. :P

I agree, a lot of those look too stylish or too much like street clothes. The second one is funny, it looks like he's borrowed a sailor costume from a girl much shorter than him and it fits him improperly. :P

I guess we've learned that Matt Smith can wear anything and he can still look cool. :-) Though, he doesn't look comfortable or happy in any of the photos, so some of the options might have worked, but you want your actor to be happy, too.

Also, I'm very glad they cut Matt Smith's hair. It's just so long in those photos and very un-Doctor. The Doctor, and his clothes, should never be shabby.
