Whew, that was a long day! I don't think I've ever attempted to get that many autographs done at once. Despite all the running around I had to do, it was a very satisfying day. But let me start at the beginning...
So I started the morning off by getting up hella early, but it was worth it. A friend and I were the first people in line to get Stephen Amell's autograph. It's kind of crazy how a lot of the guests just fly into the city and go straight to the expo. Stephen hadn't even had breakfast yet when he showed up and the poor man had just wrapped filming Arrow season three at like four o'clock in the morning. So it's a long weekend for the guests, too. I don't think I said much of anything to Stephen when I got my autograph, but he seemed pretty impressed that my friend and I lined up so early.
Oh, and Stephen has a very nice handler/agent/manager type person. He politely laid out the rules, but he was also joking around with the people in line. At one point, he was joking how we should all pretend to walk away when Stephen showed up and that led to me and my friend suggesting that we should say, "You're not Robbie Amell" (as Robbie Amell was also a guest at the expo). The handler seemed to like that. By coincidence or not, Robbie walked out at the beginning of Stephen's panel so maybe we inspired that little moment. ;-)
After Stephen, we hightailed it over to Hayley Atwell's table. I managed to get out how much I loved Agent Carter and how I hope it gets picked up for another season and Hayley said she hopes so, too. Her panel and my photo-op are with her tomorrow, so more on her later.
After that, we ran over to Arthur Darvill's table. I got him to sign my Doctor Who 50th anniversary calendar and he said he had never seen the calendar before.

I don't think I said anything intelligible to him beyond pointing out that Matt and Karen had already signed, too. Now I just need Alex Kingston, I guess.
Realizing I still had money at this point, I decided to go see Brett Dalton. His table wasn't that busy so he was taking a few seconds to chat with everyone. I was dressed up like Melinda May and he noticed that and he mentioned that Ming-Na didn't like her season one outfit very much. Not because it was uncomfortable, but because she had to wear it day in and day out. I guess that's why we never see the vest combo anymore. Oh, and all of his AoS photos were branded with the ABC logo. I didn't see any other guest photos like that, so it seems ABC is very proprietary of the images they release for cons. Brett was also doing selfies in addition to autographs, but I didn't bother. It is a trend I noticed this year. Celebrities are charging for selfies. I guess it's better than trying to sneak a blurry photo from the line. It just goes to show how we all need to post everything right away. Brett was giving away free buttons with his autograph, so I grabbed one.
Arthur's panel was the first one for the day. He had Ajay from Innerspace as his moderator and I'm always glad when I see one of those guys since they know their stuff.

Arthur commented on how big the room was, saying he felt like there should be cattle running around, and you know what? He's actually right. They use the building during Stampede for a lot of the agricultural stuff. His panel was pretty good. He mentioned he geeked out over the new Star Wars trailer. He also said he was totally confused by how polite Canadians are. Like, how can we be so polite all the time? Are we hiding something? Even the sketchy people on the street are polite. That made me laugh. He couldn't talk much about the Arrow/Flash spin-off, but he did say he will have to start exercising, which is something he's really not fond of. Oh, and he brought up "The Girl Who Waited"; he said he was glad he got to do a meaty episode about Amy and Rory. I have my photo-op with him tomorrow, so one last chance to see him.
I then ran like a crazy person to get my AoS photo op done. From the sound of things, Ming-Na got in late to the city, so that threw off her schedule a bit. She was only running on two hours of sleep since she had wrapped at ten o'clock last night and then there was the after party. She was doing amazing for only two hours of sleep. When I got up to take my photo, Brett actually remembered me and Ming-Na noticed my costume, too. I asked if we could do a pose where we could look at Brett with an annoyed look and they both went for it.

I was stupid and looked at the camera instead of Brett, so it wasn't quite the effect I was going for, but it was still a fun picture.
Jason Momoa's panel was next and he's such a lovable goofball. You think he's all serious and moody because he's this big, huge guy, but he's not. You should have heard him geeking out about the new Star Wars trailer. My god, he's adorable. I don't watch Game of Thrones, so when he spoke Dothraki I don't know what he was saying, but it must be an endearment because a lot of people went "awwww", when someone said, "My moon and stars."
After that was Stephen Amell's panel, and like I said, Robbie Amell walked out first after they did the big introduction. I'm glad the two of them have that sense of humour. Stephen's panel was a hoot.

It was moderated by Garrett Wang, of Star Trek Voyager fame, and at one point Garrett had to stop and comment on how blue Stephen's eyes are. See, he's so pretty that even straight men must hit on him. ;-) We're so close to the end of the season for Arrow so he didn't want to spoil anything, but it sounds like Ollie makes some questionable decisions over the last few episodes. And it seems like there might be one last crossover moment with The Flash coming up. Oh, and Stephen is not a Canucks fan, so he's rooting for the Flames in the playoffs.
My last panel of the day was the AoS panel. It started about five minutes late, which is pretty good since Ming-Na was running behind on everything. She was super loopy, though, being that sleep deprived, but it made for a hilarious panel.

A lot of the questions were for her, so she got to tease Brett a lot. A lot of kids in the AoS panel, too. I guess it's a Marvel thing. Apparently, the producers are constantly telling her "Less Ming, More May" because she wants to make May more lighthearted, but that's not the character. And she brought up Mulan and how it's a great movie for Asians and a great role model for young girls. I hope they sneak her into the live action Mulan that's in the works, like in a cameo or something. That would be awesome.
I had to dash out of that panel to make my Arrow/Flash team-up photo-op, which included Stephen Amell, Robbie Amell, and David Ramsey. It was so quick. My friend is doing the same photo-op tomorrow and she was planning on a "bicep chariot", but when I brought it up during my photo-op, I got a sort of strained laugh from Stephen and an emphatic "No", so my friend will be sad tomorrow.
The very last thing I did today was to get Ming-Na's autograph.

She signed my bag, but I think she was so wiped, she didn't even notice it was a Stargate bag because she signed it with "May". Oh well, at least I got her to sign it; I was worried she was only doing photos. I think this is it for the bag. I don't think the expo will be getting any more Stargate related guests. Ming-Na also does a beaded bracelet exchange, so I had knitted a bracelet with some beaded detailing to give to her. In exchange, I got a AoS button (Brett's is on the left):

Sounds like she's a knitter, too. I mentioned I just got into knitting and she replied back that it's addictive.
So, I should probably explain the title of this post. I had changed into my Arrow t-shirt for that photo-op and I hadn't really planned to change back into my Melinda May cosplay, but I'm so glad I did the quick change while waiting in line. Ming noticed that I was dressed up like her character, probably having forgotten the photo op earlier because of her sleep deprived mind, but she was so excited that she wanted to take a picture of me with her phone. So she whips out her phone and has one of the volunteers take our picture. I can claim I'm on Ming-Na's phone! Who knows if she'll post or tweet the picture, but it's still cool that she wanted a photo of me. That so made my day. I'm so glad I bought the replica vest. This just goes to show that dressing up can pay off sometimes. :-)
Last day tomorrow. Slack day. Hayley photo-op, then her panel, and then Arthur's photo-op. Then I can go home and maybe catch up on some sleep before it's back to work on Monday.
