Or, alternatively, the day John Barrowman stole the show. Even without seeing tomorrow's panels, which include Billie Piper's and Stan Lee's last appearance here, I can officially state that John's panel was the best of the weekend. Why?
It was just John and the fans. No moderator. I've seen very few unmoderated panels, but they are always the best. The guest or guests are more laid back when they don't have a random stranger asking them questions and directing everything. So John just went to town. He came out dressed in the onesie the expo was selling and then he did a strip tease out of the onesie. His shoes actually got caught in the legs so the onesie got caught around his ankles. :-) Then there was much flirting with the camera guys filming everything and a lot of innuendo and somehow through all of this he still gave coherent and wonderful answers. John is absolutely amazing.
I keep going on about his white hat, but he actually put it away in a box after he got it because he took his oath to become an honourary citizen very seriously. And then he sang two songs! OMG, it was so great to hear him live. John also seems to have a secret project in the works. He nearly blabbed about it, but he stopped himself. Something to do about comedy and it was done for the fans.
Sigh. I love John. I could listen to him all day and it would never get boring.
Anyway, I was in panels for most of the day, which was a nice break. As such, I didn't get any photos.
I started the day off getting Billie Piper's autograph for my Doctor Who 50th anniversary calendar. Man, I'm getting my money's worth with this calendar. Billie showed up late, but it seemed like every guest this morning was running behind. But I think Billie was among the first once guests did start to pop up. I didn't say much to her beyond thanking her for coming to the expo.

I got her to sign September, or Nine's month, since it had more pictures of her. Leaves plenty of room in October for David Tennant if I ever meet him (ha!)
After getting Billie's autograph, I hightailed it over to Alan Tudyk's panel. He was my second favourite panel of the day. Aside from being a really funny guy, he also had a bag of, well, crap from his house that he was signing and giving away to people after they asked their questions. Among the things given away were wallpaper samples, an orange traffic cone from the premiere of Zootopia (Alan smuggled it out under his jacket), a rat trap, one slipper from a fancy hotel in England, and some sides from Con Man. I assume this is a thing he does at every panel. It's a good way to clean house. ;-)
They're making a second season of Con Man, but for whatever reason, the first season has to come down by May, so watch it while you can.
And Alan wasn't allowed to talk about Rogue One. He didn't even confirm what CGI character he's playing. Oh well, the moderator tried his best.
At some point I ran off to get Billie's photo-op. She's so lovely. She did a different pose with every person rather than stick with the old standby of the arm around the middle. Her pose is a little awkward in my photo, as she was off balanced, so it looks like she's holding on to me in a strong breeze or something. But it was cool that she was so into it. She's doing dual photo-ops with John today and tomorrow, so I imagine those photos are even more amusing.
Then there was John's panel, which was pretty much packed. Everyone loves him. Poor Brandon Routh had to follow him. No singing in Brandon's panel, but he was very courteous and turns out he's a big geek. He played video games when he was a kid and read a ton of fantasy novels and comics. He didn't speak much about the end of Legends of Tomorrow, which is coming up soon, but I'm glad he didn't since I'm episode behind.
Last day tomorrow. I have to get Alan's autograph and his photo-op, but it shouldn't be too bad. I am missing out on Billie's panel, since it conflicts with Alan's photo-op, but if I hurry, I might be able to catch the end. It's also going to be Stan Lee's last appearance ever in the city. The man's been going non-stop all weekend.
