It was rainy all day but that didn't seem to put a damper on things. It kind of messed up people's cosplays, though. I didn't see as many costumes as yesterday.

I did a quick wander through the guest hall before heading to the main panel room. The entire cast of Wynonna Earp had taken over the spot that Jeff Goldblum has occupied yesterday. The show actually films here so it was probably easy to get them as guests. Hmm, now that I think about it, I think this was the first time the expo had guests from a production currently filming in town. Wynonna Earp is probably the geekiest thing that shoots here, so maybe that's why.

First panel of the day was Elijah Wood. He was pretty impressed with the size of the panel room (it used to be a hockey arena). According to him, it's similar in size to Hall H at Comic Con. He fielded a lot of questions about Lord of the Rings and Dirk Gently. Elijah was genuinely bummed that Dirk Gently was cancelled. It seemed like he knew what was to come for season three, but he said it wasn't his place to reveal any of that information.

The best part of the panel had to be the moment the moderator, Tanner, inadvertently spoiled a big death in season two of Stranger Things for Elijah. Okay, so it probably wasn't very funny for Tanner, but how was he to know that Elijah is behind on his Netflix watching? Elijah said he's been distracted. Sounds like he's a gamer because he's been playing the new God of War and Far Cry 5. He ended his panel by taking a bunch of selfies with the audience. Doesn't look like the pics have been posted anywhere, but Tanner does have his selfie with Elijah on his Twitter.

I should have got up and left to grab something to eat at this point, but I had a good seat and I didn't want to leave, so I sat through Lou Ferrigno's panel. Fun fact, Lou was a guest at my second or third ever CCEE. This was back in the day when the panel room was an area blocked off by curtains. Oh, how far the expo has come.

I was actually quite surprised by how many people came to see him. I've seen a couple of the TV movies they did for The Incredible Hulk, but never the actual TV show. It must have been quite popular back in the day. Lou's panel was pretty good, too. He's such an optimistic guy. His positive outlook on life is quite refreshing. Oh, and the moderator wanted to feel Lou's bicep, so that's what going on in the picture. The man is in incredible shape (no pun intended).

Then it was Wil Wheaton's panel. This was Wil's third appearance at the expo, but he always puts on a good show. I was slightly disappointed that Garrett Wang wasn't the moderator. I think it would have been amusing.

Wil looks so serious in the photo, but despite my best efforts, I never managed one of him smiling. Anyway, it was interesting that many of the questions weren't about TNG. Most were about Wil's love of table top gaming. All weekend, people were asking him to curse their dice or he was writing funny things on blank Cards Against Humanity cards. It's neat that he's found another audience. Star Trek will always be a part of him, but now he has new fans, too. Oh, someone asked if he had any thoughts on Star Trek: Discovery, but it turns out that Wil hasn't watched it yet. It just hasn't been on his radar. Ooh, and in his head canon, Wil likes to think that Wesley is basically a Time Lord and he's travelling around in space and time. :-D

And look what a friend found on the expo's Flickr photo stream:

I had no idea that one of the expo photographers caught this. It's so weird that one of them just happened to be around at that particular moment. As you can see, I'm turned away from Wil since I was talking to his handler. I didn't know that Wil took an additional photo of knitted Wesley. I wonder if he sent the photo to someone. Anne, his wife, was also a guest at the expo (she wrote a children's book), so maybe he texted her?

Last panel of the day for me was Cary Elwes. He was an odd duck this weekend. He was the only guest whose table was behind a curtain so you couldn't snap any sneaky photos of him. Also, I saw some photo-ops he did on Friday and he was wearing a pair of sunglasses the entire time. Look, people are paying to see your face; you shouldn't be wearing anything that covers part of your features.

But then, he was utterly charming during his panel. He jumped down from the stage to hug cute kids; he skipped with one girl back to her parents. So, I don't know. Maybe he was having a bad day on Friday.

And I have to say that his accent is unusual. He's British, but his British accent doesn't seem that pronounced. Like, he's scaled it back during his years in Hollywood or something. Anyway, he had some amusing stories about working on The Princess Bride. He said he managed to break a toe while driving an ATV that Andre the Giant was using to get around. Also, I did not know that The Princess Bride was only in the theatre for a short time. It opened against, I think, Fatal Attraction, so no one went to see it at the time.

Tanner was the moderator again, but he didn't spoil anything this time around. :-D Cary is going to be in season three of Stranger Things as the mayor, so maybe it's time I got around to watching the show.

Well, that's another expo done for the year. Now I need to find time to go see Avengers: Infinity War. I've been living in fear of spoilers since Thursday night.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure I was the only person that weekend who gave him a knitted doll. If I ever make more and sell them, I could potentially claim "approved by Wil Wheaton". :-D
