Because the comic book store at my university was completely sold out! Granted, the guy only had 20 copies to begin with, but still, sold out! That's a good sign.
And an awesome surprise for me at the end of the story. Nope, not the above mentioned villain. The letter from "Ness" is me! I sent in that e-mail such a long time ago, but there it is. I can't believe they kept it. Thank you Mr. Allie.
I can't wait for #2.
It's quite different since we get to hear what Buffy's thinking but that's something the medium of comics allows for over T.V. I like that the squad Buffy leads is multicultural because if there are Slayers all over the world, they're not all going to be from the U.S. Maybe they'll be Canadian Slayers! Not that we'll be able to tell from how they look or speak... But great set-up from Joss. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the gang. Not really sure why he had Dawn go all Alice in Wonderland but I'm sure things will be explained as we go along. Like what the heck was Amy doing at the bottom of that crater. Good to see her back though. Wonder who her "boyfriend" is? A re-animated Larry? Okay, that just sounded silly.

Unless they wear plaid and say "eh." :)
The "boyfriend" mystery totally has me stumped. Larry is a good guess. I never thought of him.
