Man, I did horribly in the BSG death pool. I thought "They're not going to go with the obvious choices; let's pick the less likely." By the rules we were playing by, people you chose who didn't die was minus a point. I ended up with -4. *shakes head*

As for the finale, I found it was "meh".

It was like the episode that would never end. I watched with a bunch of my sister's friends and one guy said it was like Return of the King. Actually, it reminded me of season three's finale. They were two distinct episodes that were squished together to justify a two hour block of television. Attacking the Colony was sort of cool but the way the two teams just magically made it back to Galactica felt a bit weird. Maybe their escape back was cut for time. Hoshi was made Admiral? He was the only Galactica crew member left who wasn't going on the mission was kind of recognizable. Cylon against Cylon looked awesome, especially with the old school Centurions. Poor Racetrack and Skulls bit the dust. And Baltar saved the day by talking. Well, I guess that ended up being the one selfless thing he had never done. And man, the whole room cheered when Tyrol killed Tory and when Cavil shot himself. I think it was because everyone had those two characters marked off in the death pool. :-) (Eight people on our ballot died, if anyone was counting)

Then Kara takes everyone to Earth! Our Earth, which is just called Earth after the Earth they found burnt to a crisp. That was slightly confusing. The planet we saw at the end of "Crossroads Part 2" was our Earth, not 13th tribe Earth. Which means Kara went to both Earths. I think Ron Moore explains it in an interview, but if you have to explain it outside of the show then that's poor/lazy storytelling. At least the rag tag fleet found a home.

I didn't really have a Serenity moment, except when Helo was shot. I really thought he was going to die. Good thing they changed their minds. But with the other characters, I never felt they were in danger. The only reason Roslin dies is because she was already dying. Everyone else makes it out without a scratch. Though apparently Tyrol and Adama are going to be hermits or something. But Adama's going to build Laura's cabin. :-) It's sort of sad that he doesn't see her die. Oh, and Kara just disappears, which we didn't count as a death. I'm not even going to touch that one. It just doesn't make sense.

But not much else was explained. The head people are angels? And what was the point with the vision of the opera house? It's cool how the Final Five were all standing up top in the CIC like in the vision, but the rest of it didn't make sense. Or was the vision leading Balter and Six to the CIC so Baltar could confront Cavil? So confused. The human race, our human race, is part Cylon? I argue that there is no definitive way to wrap up a show like BSG. Sending the ship into the sun wraps the lives of the characters on the ship, but the characters continue to live on. They're stories won't end. And maybe it's best that way. The show is the characters. For once, we're getting a (mostly) happy ending.

And double the Tahmoh for one last time.

Briefly, I really liked Dollhouse, but I'm too tired to talk about it right now.

Must... not.... Read....

Took so long to 'acquire' BSG that we fell asleep. There were so many fakes out there. Now it's Sunday morning and I have to leave to see Peter Davison in an hour. So I won't get to watch until tonight.

Aaaagggghhh! The suspense is killing me.

I agree. And I still don't really get it, so. :P

DOUBLE THE TAHMOH YESSSSSS. I am going to miss that. But BSG was always kind of a downer after Dollhouse, anyway.
