- The summer snow continues. It had melted a bit yesterday but a fresh snowfall this morning made everything white and wet again. I regret not wearing boots this morning. My runners were soaked by the time I got to work. I guess that's mostly my fault since I walked.

For the curious, snow in late summer looks like this:

Snow in late summer. Not a pretty sight. )

- Work was also stupid today. I was stuck doing a three rush orders that took all day to get organized and by the time that one of them was ready to send out, the buyer was all fed up and went home. That really pissed me off. Dumbo was all "I've been here since 5:30 this morning and I've had to go home at 3:30 for the past two days so I'm leaving now." Boo frickin' hoo. I always get into work before this buyer and I stay later than he does so he has nothing to complain about. The procurement manager also disappeared on me so when I was sending everything out there was no one to consult when I ran into an issue. Grr...

- The only bright spot to my day? My new Playstation 4 showed up today! I got the Destiny bundle so I have a new game to play. I can take out my frustrations by shooting aliens in the face.

- Should be warmer tomorrow. I might even wear my femme!Eleven coat. Because, really, it's the only highlight I can think of regarding this weather.
WHY IS IS SNOWING?!?!?!?

The leaves haven't fallen off of the trees yet. We haven't even had the first frost yet. Not that it matters anymore.

Better break out the winter jacket for tomorrow...

[Error: unknown template qotd]To quote my favourite Muppet holiday special:

It's cold enough to freeze your Winnebago!

I should know. I was outside today and while it wasn't snowing heavily or anything, the wind just made it miserable. I was so happy when I got inside again. Ah, the joys of living in Canada.
Hmm, that sounds like the start of a joke.

"It was so cold-"

"How cold was it?"

"It was so cold, that I couldn't get into my office building this morning!"

Okay, so not really a joke, but it's true. Massive cold snap hit most of the country. It was like -40 today with wind chill and that's damn cold no matter what measurement you use. Cold enough, apparently, to freeze the card reader sensor thing on the outside of my office building. I scanned my card over this morning and the damn thing wouldn't unlock. I thought maybe it was my card, that it was too cold from being in my bag, but warming it up in my hands did nothing. Then I thought maybe the lock was too cold and I tried warming that up with my hands. Yeah, that didn't work either. I eventually had to go around to the other door and thankfully that was unlocked this morning.

Oh, and it was also cold enough that I had to wear long johns so I wouldn't freeze my legs off. Ah, the joys of a Canadian winter. Anyone else have winter battle stories?

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have laughed at the weather. The city's under a weather warning now. Heavy snowfall. There's a good 25-30 cm outside on the ground. And a chunk of snow just fell off the roof with a loud thunk. Ah, spring in Calgary.

Even the birds are fed up. They flew back here from the south, expecting nice weather to have cute baby birds and then pow!

This is my neighbour's tree. Usually there are a lot of birds hanging around - crows, magpies, etc - because the lady across the way feeds them, but this is just plain weird. It's like The Birds around here. I couldn't get a picture since they flew away, but there were tons more sitting on my fence and the lilac bush. The poor birds were all huddled together and puffed up to keep warm.

I hope the weather lets up before Monday. Being late for exams would not be a wise move.
