locker_monsterI ditched my book club and my friends to pick up my Kidrobot Futurama figurines from my sister's place last night. I'm not sure what that says about me, my sister, or our geekiness. Considering how much we ended up paying for these, I think it's safe to say that our geek cred is still intact. :-)
I think these are the cutest things I have ever seen. It's the oversized heads that does it. :-) So now I have a Lil' Angry Bender of my own! I want to take him to work and put him on my desk.
Some close-ups to better see the cuteness. Each character comes with their own accessory. I wish Bender came up with a bottle of booze instead of a cigar. He needs to keep himself fuelled, you know.
With the way Kidrobot boxes their figurines, they call it a blind assortment, you don't know which character you're getting when you order. We bought a box of sixteen to better the odds of getting the characters we wanted and my sister and I managed a good spread. We got enough duplicates to keep each of us happy though my sister got to keep Zoidberg and he is, by far, the cutest of the bunch.
I hope Kidrobot comes out with a second series of figurines. I want to see the Professor in cute and miniaturized form.

Date: 2009-09-19 10:21 pm (UTC)Out of our box of sixteen we managed to get nine of the 12 possible characters. The last three characters, two secret and the Robot Devil, are really tough to get, so I say we did pretty well. The odds of getting Zoidberg, Lrrr, or Morbo are 1 of 16; the fact that we got all of them just shows how random the whole blind assortment thing can be. But so worth it.
