The Blog to Nowhere

So, CCEE 2011. Much better than last year, not because of the calibre of guests they got but because they listened to the complaints from last year and actually improved things. Bigger exhibit hall and more space to walk through it, bigger main panel room, and organized lines (for the most part). Some things still need tweaking, like their photo-op process (don’t get me started on that), but everything seemed less chaotic.

I know Katee Sackhoff and George Romero will be at the expo next year and the expo people teased some Whedonverse actors, too, but how do you top Captain Kirk? Captain Picard? Captain Tightpants? Captain Jack? Oh man, they need to get some Doctor Who actors. Then I’m sure the Doctor Who fans would be out in force. Ooh, that’d be so cool…

I ditched my book club and my friends to pick up my Kidrobot Futurama figurines from my sister's place last night. I'm not sure what that says about me, my sister, or our geekiness. Considering how much we ended up paying for these, I think it's safe to say that our geek cred is still intact. :-)


I think these are the cutest things I have ever seen. It's the oversized heads that does it. :-) So now I have a Lil' Angry Bender of my own! I want to take him to work and put him on my desk.

I hope Kidrobot comes out with a second series of figurines. I want to see the Professor in cute and miniaturized form.

Futurama lives!

This proves that shows can come back from the grave, better than ever. Hmm, the shows starting with "F" on FOX seem to have a good resurrection track record. Family Guy, Futurama... What was that other show? About cowboys in space? :-D

Or maybe it's just animated shows. *shrugs*

I love Futurama. It's much better than The Simpsons, or, at least, recent seasons of The Simpsons. It's got sci fi goodness and great storytelling. And it has science jokes that I don't understand, but the fact that the show has science jokes that only ten people will get just makes the show more awesome.
