So I've been told I'm gainfully employed until April with this stupid project. And I was so looking forward to breaking away. Okay, yay, three more months with a pay cheque, but I just hate how these people can't make up their minds. I mean, our department is down to five people. Keeping three of us around for a little longer isn't going to make a difference.
Sigh. And I moved offices again, so now I don't have the convenience of writing at work, which so helped to pass the time. Now I actually have to work all the time and my gosh it's boring.
But there are some things to look forward to in April. I'm heading back to Vancouver to attend that Stargate con. Yes, I was just there last year, but my mom and I couldn't help ourselves. And David Hewlett will be there! I'm debating whether I want to buy a photo-op or not. It's $50, which is a lot when you think about it. $50 to get your picture taken with someone, albeit, someone awesome. And the geekiness continues the week I get back from Vancouver. The local con just announced Leonard Nimoy is coming, which is a huge deal. Plus, he's heading down to Vulcan the day before the con, because hey, it's Vulcan. I do hope the con realizes they are going to need a huge room for Nimoy's panel. If they try to stuff everyone into one of the smaller rooms, it'll be lame and a fire hazard.
And I caught up with Being Human. I'm not sure I'm liking how this season is going so far.
Last season it was all about George, Mitchell, and Annie trying to fit in and now that they've all achieved some semblance of normality, it's being taken away from them. Nina left George, Annie is back to being invisible, and Mitchell is left to clean up after Herrick. I mean, they're all still struggling with the reality of their situations, but it feels a lot more dire this time around. They haven't been the three cute flat mates from last season so far and I miss that. It also doesn't help that now they have this weird professor guy spying on them. It's an interesting twist, but it kind of reminds me of when the Initiative showed up on Buffy. Normal human beings messing around with the supernatural never ends well.
So far, only Annie's arc is interesting to me. She turned down death and now death wants her back. There are people beyond the threshold of the door who really aren't happy. And Annie made a reference to Buffy last week! Or more accurately, it was a reference to Angel only they didn't say it was Angel, but hey, it's the thought that counts. :-)
I've also started watching MacGyver, thanks to my public library and their DVD collection. Hee, the 80s.
