I clearly need help. :-D The awesome alternative cover for Buffy #9 by Georges Jeanty was revealed this week. It's on the left there. On the right? My half-assed Photoshop version with the real actors. I haven't a clue how this came to be.

I used this photo from The Avengers movie, which is a bit of a cheat since it's not old school Mrs. Peel and Steed, but considering how close the positions of the actors are to the comic cover I'd wager that Georges Jeanty used it as a reference. However, I did have to cheat when it came to the red figures in the background. Those are of the original Mrs. Peel since there aren't many pictures of Faith or Eliza dressed up in a catsuit doing karate moves. ;-)

I'm now overcome with the urge to watch some old The Avengers episodes. :-D

That's pretty good work. The only thing that looks a tiny bit off is Giles's face, specifically where it meets the hat. Also, a little bit of blur might help the real images blend in a bit more with the background, as it is it stands out a bit.

Yeah, Giles' face is the only thing I really couldn't get. I really don't like doing head replacements (no pun intended) because it is so hard to ensure it fills the correct space.

But it is, after all, just a bit of fun. :-)

That is one nice piece of work - your manip, I mean not Jeanty's cover because that cover's pretty ordinary artistically!

I just love the idea of Faith and Giles as Mrs. Peel and Steed. I'm pretty sure them as The Avengers has nothing to do with the plot of the comic, but it looks damn cool. Jeanty's art could be a little better; someone suggested the cover presented is just a spec so maybe the one that will be released will look better. *shrug*

I'm just happy to play around with the image. :-D
