He dug into his voluminous pockets and started to pull out the various odds and ends he liked to keep handy. A length of twine. A handful of safety pins. A large elastic band. A crumpled paper bag. A fountain pen. A box of matches. )
So at the same time I was making up Valentine themed banners for [livejournal.com profile] who_at_50's February fanwork-a-thon I started a side project, which, admittedly, eclipsed the Valentines at one point so I finished the Valentines with a day to go. :-P

But all of that wasted time was worth it. I honestly don't know what inspired this and I really don't know if I'll do anything with it, but I thought I'd share.

Eleven Doctors behind the cut )

I honestly don't know what to do with them now that I'm done. I'm tempted to print it, cut out each Doctor individually and then hang them up in my cubicle, paper doll chain style.

A familiar face was the last thing the Doctor expected to encounter in the dense forest, but he was grateful for the random happenstance. He crossed the short distance between them and eagerly shook the young man's hand. "Rupert Giles. Your timing is impeccable." )
Wow, it's been just over a year since I started this epic quest to watch all of the Classic Doctor Who episodes. At this point I'm definitely past the half way point. Just five more seasons to go.

Before starting on Five's era, I thought he was the eternal optimist of the bunch. That no matter what was happening, he always looked on the bright side of things. I suppose that's true, but he wasn't very kind, was he? Five could be, well, a bit mean. He seemed to have very little patience with people and his Companions could never do anything right. It was kind of startling to see how harsh Five was, but the Doctor was getting older and he was stuck with this youthful face that no one took seriously. I can see why Eleven has that line in "The Eleventh Hour" about having a face no one listens to. Again. At least Five did try being nice before he decided everyone was an idiot. I can't recall how many times he started a confrontation with his hand out-stretched and "Hello, I'm the Doctor".

Some rambling about the Fifth Doctor's era )

All in all, Five has moved up on the list of my favourite Doctors. Sigh, now it's on to Six. I'm not really looking forward to his era. That outfit, that sad, sad outfit...
